Staying safe on Collabaway
Collabaway never asks you to pay to get paid. Nobody from Collabaway will ask you for a deposit, a fee or a gift card before you can withdraw money.
How money moves
- Brands pay into Collabaway. Money for a deal goes from the brand, through Collabaway, to you. It never goes the other way.
- Collabaway's fee is taken out of the payment. You never send money to Collabaway, or to a brand, to receive a payment.
- There is no "activation", "verification", "release" or "withdrawal" fee for creators to pay. Anyone asking for one is not Collabaway.
How to spot a fake offer
- They ask you to pay first: a deposit, a fee, shipping for a "free" product, or buying the product yourself to be paid back later.
- They want payment in gift cards or crypto, or ask you to send them money for any reason.
- They push you to WhatsApp, Telegram or another app to talk about money, or offer to pay you outside Collabaway.
- The offer is far above what you usually get, for very little work, and they want an answer right now.
- They claim to be Collabaway staff, or a well-known brand, in a message. Brands checked by our team show a Verified business badge on their profile and offers.
When a message in a deal thread asks you to pay or move off Collabaway, we show a caution under it. We don't block it, so keep your guard up.
How to report
- In a deal thread, open the menu next to the brand's name and choose Report.
- On a brand or agency's profile page, choose Report.
- Pick what happened and add any details. Only Collabaway's team sees your report.
- Don't send money or share passwords or sign-in codes while you wait. Keep talking on Collabaway so there's a record.
