Cookies Policy

Last updated: October 2026

This Cookies Policy explains how Collabaway, Inc. (“Collabaway,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) uses cookies and similar tracking technologies on the Collabaway platform (the “Platform”). This policy should be read alongside our Data Policy.

1. What Are Cookies

Cookies are small text files that are placed on your device (computer, tablet, or mobile phone) when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work efficiently, provide information to site owners, and improve the user experience. Cookies can be “persistent” (remaining on your device until they expire or you delete them) or “session” (deleted when you close your browser).

2. Cookies We Use

2.1 Essential / Session Cookies

These cookies are strictly necessary for the Platform to function and cannot be disabled. They are used to authenticate your identity, maintain your session, and ensure the security of your account.

CookieProviderPurposeDuration
authjs.session-tokenNextAuth.jsStores your encrypted session data to keep you signed in across page loads.Session / 30 days
authjs.callback-urlNextAuth.jsStores the URL to redirect you to after authentication.Session
authjs.csrf-tokenNextAuth.jsProtects against cross-site request forgery attacks.Session
cb_consentCollabawayRemembers whether you accepted or rejected analytics cookies. It holds only that answer.6 months

2.2 Analytics Cookies

These cookies are set only after you choose “Accept” in the cookie banner. They help us understand how visitors find and use the public pages of the Platform (pages visited, buttons used and where people leave) so we can improve it. With your consent we may also record how some public pages are used, with everything you type hidden.

If you choose “Reject”, or your browser sends a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal, no analytics cookies are set and nothing is stored in your browser for analytics: PostHog counts the visit without cookies, using a hash that changes every day and is computed on its servers, and Google Analytics does not load. Analytics never records the text you type, your Collabaway handle or the address of private pages.

CookieProviderPurposeDuration
ph_<project key>_posthog*PostHogA random identifier for your browser and the current visit, so pages viewed in one visit can be counted together. A copy is kept in your browser’s local storage.1 year
_ga, _ga_<id>Google AnalyticsDistinguishes visitors on our public marketing pages. Not used on signed-in pages, sign-in, invitations or profiles.2 years

2.3 Preference Cookies

These cookies remember choices you make on the Platform, such as your preferred language, display settings, dashboard layout preferences, and notification settings. They allow us to provide a more personalized experience.

CookieProviderPurposeDuration
sidebar_stateCollabawayRemembers whether the dashboard sidebar is expanded or collapsed.1 year
cookie_consentCollabawayStores your cookie consent preferences.1 year

3. Third-Party Cookies

In addition to the cookies we set directly, certain third-party services integrated into the Platform may set their own cookies:

  • Google OAuth: When you sign in or register using Google, Google may set cookies on your device to manage the authentication flow and maintain your Google session. These cookies are governed by Google’s Privacy Policy.
  • Stripe: When you interact with payment features (such as setting up a connected account or making a payment), Stripe may set cookies to facilitate the transaction, prevent fraud, and comply with regulatory requirements. These cookies are governed by Stripe’s Privacy Policy.
  • PostHog: With your consent, PostHog sets the cookie above and may record how some public pages are used, with everything you type hidden. Requests to PostHog go through collabaway.com and never carry your Collabaway sign-in cookies. PostHog processes data in the United States in accordance with its Privacy Policy.

4. Managing Cookies

Most web browsers allow you to control cookies through their settings. You can typically configure your browser to block all cookies, accept all cookies, or notify you when a cookie is set. The specific steps vary by browser:

  • Chrome: Settings > Privacy and security > Cookies and other site data
  • Firefox: Settings > Privacy & Security > Cookies and Site Data
  • Safari: Preferences > Privacy > Manage Website Data
  • Edge: Settings > Cookies and site permissions > Cookies and site data

Please note that blocking essential cookies will prevent you from signing in and using authenticated features of the Platform. Blocking analytics cookies will not affect Platform functionality but will limit our ability to improve the user experience based on usage data.

You can change your analytics choice at any time with “Cookie settings” here or in the site footer. Withdrawing consent stops recordings and removes the analytics identifier from your browser. We treat a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal as a refusal unless you choose otherwise.

5. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Cookies Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the cookies we use or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. When we make changes, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.

6. Contact Us

If you have any questions about our use of cookies or this Cookies Policy, please contact us at:

We'd like to measure how people find and use Collabaway, including recordings of some pages with anything you type hidden. If you reject, we only count visits, without cookies. The site works the same either way. Cookie policy
